Dress your baby in three layers: a breathable base layer, a warm middle layer such as wool or fleece, and a windproof outer layer.

Check the neck, not the hands

Cold hands are normal. Feel the back of the neck: warm and dry means your baby is comfortable, sweaty means one layer too many.
